The Space Foundation has two major facilities in Colorado Springs, Colo.: Our headquarters and the Space Foundation Discovery Institute. Plus, we have an office in Washington, D.C., and field representatives in Texas and Florida.

World Headquarters

Located at 4425 Arrowswest Drive in Colorado Springs, our World Headquarters currently house Space Foundation staff offices and the Ackerman Conference Center. We are in the process of designing and collecting artifacts for a visitors center that we anticipate will open some time in the next two years and we are building a space library that will be available to school classes and space enthusiasts. While not open - yet - for walk-in guests and tours, we do often host meetings and events at our headquarters. For a map and directions - or to contact us - click here. Washington, D.C., Office

Our Washington, D.C., office, located at 1133 20th St NW, Ste 425, is the home base for our Public Policy and Government Affairs programs and our Research and Analysis functions, as well as serving as the focal point for Washington-based international and protocal functions. The telephone number is +1.202.618.3060.

Future Visitors Center

The visitors center we are planning for our headquarters will be a highly interactive, museum-quality destination for formal and informal public and private education - advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the exciting context of space exploration, development and utilization.  Space policy, history and its impact on life on Earth will form unique and fascinating subtexts to the stories told to teachers, students, invited guests and the public. Starting off modestly, but growing over time, the visitors center will comprise:

  • The Northrop Grumman Science Center, which will include a Science on a Sphere® and classroom and laboratory facilities that can be used for pre-kindergarten through graduate-level courses, educator professional development and educational multimedia events and presentations for the general public.
  • A Teaching Auditorium for informal, educational public multimedia events, lectures, presentations and student and teacher educational programs
  • The Space Technology Hall of Fame®
  • Frequently changing guest exhibits presented by the Kansas Cosmosphere® and Peterson Air Force Base museums
  • Historic and interactive contemporary exhibits from the Space Foundation collection

Although the visitors center is not formally open, we are collecting artifacts and putting them on display in our World Headquarters.
