Discovery Center Kicks off 2017 by Putting the “A” in STEAM

Interactive, educational fun for all ages is returning to the Space Foundation Discovery Center in 2017! Several events this month will focus on the use of art in space. The Space Foundation knows that the use of art in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math) helps students apply necessary creative thinking and design skills that will benefit them in their future careers.

Here’s a sneak peek at the public events for all ages coming up this month at the Discovery Center in Colorado Springs.

Sat., Jan 7, 10:00 a.m. Star Days: Art of Space
Take an artistic journey with us as we spend a day making space art!

Tues., Jan 10, 10:30 a.m. Space Story Party: Roaring Rockets
A Pre-K, STEM Space Story Party! Create and explore fun rockets of all types!

Weds., Jan 11, 10:00 a.m. Homeschool Days: Art of Space
Take an artistic journey with us as we spend a day learning about and making space art!

Fri., Jan. 13, 5:00 p.m. Space After Dark: Art and Ales
View different forms of space art and enjoy a good ale, for those 21 and over.

Sat., Jan 21, 10:00 a.m. Tesla’s Toolbox: Raspberry Pi’s
Learn about programming! Participants will use Raspberry Pi’s along with Minecraft Pi.

Weds., Jan 25, 6:30 p.m. Family Star Party
A fun learning environment for the whole family that will inspire the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts!
