TORRANCE, Calif., (Sept. 11, 2017) – L3 Electron Devices announced today that it was selected to provide its next-generation Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) to Space Systems Loral (SSL), a leading provider of innovative satellites and spacecraft systems. The new L3 TWTA provides high-power signal amplification and significantly expands SSL’s High-Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity.

“This is a significant contract from SSL for our next-generation TWTA,” said Murray Kennedy, President of L3 Electron Devices. “Our companies have a long history of working together to help expand the world’s communications infrastructure and we are honored that SSL continues to place its trust in us.”

Adapting to complex waveforms and enabling very high data transmission rates, L3’s TWTA addresses increasing power requirements in the HTS market as well as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) frequency designation guidelines.
