Support Space Technology

Written by: developer

Every summer, the Space Foundation solicits nominations for induction into its Space Technology Hall of Fame® for the coming year. In addition to affording innovators much-deserved recognition, this program serves to encourage further innovation.

Created by the Space Foundation in 1988, the Space Technology Hall of Fame recognizes the life-changing technologies emerging from global space programs; honors the scientists, engineers and innovators responsible; and communicates to the public the importance of these technologies as a return on investment in space exploration.

Inducted technologies have included life-saving medical devices such as the Debakey Blood Pump, the automatic external defibrillator, non-invasive breast biopsy technology, MRI and CAT scan imaging, anti-shock garments and remote medical monitoring devices. See more inducted technologies here.

The deadline to submit a nomination for induction into the Space Technology Hall of Fame in 2019, is August 17, 2018.

Individuals and organizations may nominate up to three technologies, including previously nominated technologies that have not been inducted. Supporting material – such as technical papers and product literature – submitted for review will be assessed for completeness. Candidate technologies will then be submitted to a prestigious panel of judges and ranked according to the Space Technology Hall of Fame Selection Criteria. Top-ranked candidates will then undergo a due diligence process.

Selected nominations are announced each winter and officially inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame the following spring during a special awards ceremony and dinner, to be held during the 35th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Nomination information, including online and downloadable nomination forms, is available at www.SpaceTechHallofFame.org or contact [email protected].
