Educators: Apply by Feb. 1 for the 2018 Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award

photo of Ashlie SmithEducators who have demonstrated a commitment to inspiring students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) may apply now to receive the 2018 Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award.

The Alan Shepard Award is given annually by the Astronauts Memorial Foundation (AMF), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Space Foundation. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to creative and innovative use of technology in education by K-12 educators or district-level education personnel.

The award, named for Mercury and Apollo astronaut Alan Shepard, will be presented in April 2018 in conjunction with the Space Foundation’s 34th Space Symposium, to be held in Colorado Springs, Colo.
