The Petit Family Foundation and the Space Foundation share a common interest in fostering the education of young people.
 
Based in Plainville, Connecticut, the Petit Family Foundation also works to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illnesses and to support efforts to protect and help those affected by violence, in honor of the memories of Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit.
 
The Space Foundation is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and its award-winning educators use space-related themes to strengthen students’ interest and skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
 
The Petit Family Foundation and the Space Foundation are proud to come together for two powerful events in Hartford, Connecticut, in October to inspire young people to soar to the stars. The two Foundations will host a STEM experience for 200 local students, followed by an evening gala — Soar to the Stars —  to raise money for future STEM education programs in the eastern United States. The STEM program and gala will both be held on Oct. 27 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
 
Proceeds from the gala will be used to deliver the Space Foundation’s robust and immersive STEM education programs in the east coast area, and in doing so, further fulfill the Petit Family Foundation’s mission to educate young people, especially girls and women in the sciences.
 
Plan now to share a memorable evening with astronauts, community leaders and philanthropic donors who believe in building today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.
