Statement on the Passing of Frank Borman

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Nov. 9, 2023  Space Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983, offering information, education and collaboration for the global space ecosystem, today issued the following statement on the passing of Apollo 8 Commander Frank Borman:

“As Commander of the boldest mission in human history – Apollo 8, Frank Borman led a journey that captivated the world in a troubled time. His courage, and that of his crewmates brought the world together and showed us the unparalleled feats we can achieve when we work together. Challenges can be overcome and aspirations fulfilled that change humanity for the better.

Space Foundation extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, crewmates and colleagues on their loss. Frank Borman’s name joins those of the greatest explorers and will forever be remembered.”
