Space Foundation to Release Global Space Economy Number
Written by: Space Foundation Editorial Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — July 14, 2026 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 to advance the global space community, will release its annual Global Space Economy Number on an online event on Tuesday, July 21, beginning at 8 a.m. Mountain Time.
Space Foundation CEO Heather Pringle will share the findings and highlight key trends, investments and market forces shaping the global space economy.
“The global space economy is fundamentally different from the one we started tracking two decades ago,” Pringle said. “With more players, more threats, and more opportunities, space has become critical infrastructure and integral to our economy, security, and daily lives. It is no longer optional to ignore this sector; it’s a necessity.”
Space Foundation has tracked the trends and industries elevating the global space economy for 20 years, producing the authoritative number on where the space industry is and where it is going. The calculation combines national space spending, private investments, and market trends into a forward-looking picture of one of the fastest-growing industries on Earth.
Together, the Global Space Economy Number and accompanying report help policymakers, business leaders, investors, researchers, educators and members of the media better understand the economic trends shaping the future of the global space ecosystem.
Online attendees will receive access to the full Global Space Economy Number report.
