COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sep. 22, 2003) — The Space Foundation was chosen to receive the Air Force Association’s (AFA) national Special Citation award. Mr. Pat Condon, AFA National President, recently presented the award to Elliot Pulham, Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer, at the Colorado AFA State Dinner in Colorado Springs. The citation recognized the Space Foundation for its outstanding service as the leading non-profit organization advancing the exploration, development and use of space and space education; for continuing to expand beyond their original visionary leaders’ outreach to America’s developing space community and serving the 21st century space professionals and general public. The Air Force Association is an independent, non-profit civilian organization promoting public understanding of aerospace power and the pivotal role it plays in the security of the nation.
