Space Foundation Helps Welcome General Renuart

 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jun. 12, 2007) — Chuck Zimkas, Space Foundation chief operating officer, attended a welcome reception for the new commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and US Northern Command, Gen Victor E. Renuart (USAF). The event, hosted by the El Pomar Foundation of Colorado Springs CO was held at the Penrose House. Approximately 200 people from the local community and aerospace industry were in attendance to welcome the General, who assumed command in March 2007.

Attendees included Lt Gen Frank Klotz, vice commander, Air Force Space Command and senior leaders from both North American Aerospace Defense Command and US Northern Command. Other noteworthy participants included State Senator Andy McElhany and Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera. Mr. Bill Hybl, president and chief executive officer of the El Pomar Foundation gave the opening remarks and Gen Renuart spoke briefly.
