Announcing the Space Foundation Art ContestCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 19, 2011) — New to the National Space Symposium for 2011 is an art contest with the theme, “Human Space Travel in the Year 2020.” Students in PreK-12th grade are invited to enter the contest, co-sponsored by ARES Corporation, Fisher Space Pen Co. and the Space Foundation.

Grand prize and first place winners will be announced by former NASA astronaut CAPT Robert L. Curbeam, Jr., USN (Retired), at the 27th National Space Symposium, to be held April 11-14 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. Finalist entries will be displayed at the Symposium outside of the new ARES Education Auditorium in the Boeing Exhibit Center Lower Level.

Original artwork depicting the theme “Human Space Travel in the Year 2020” should be submitted to the Space Foundation by Feb. 25.
