Katase Will Represent Japanese Space Program

The Japanese space program will be represented at the 27th National Space Symposium by featured speaker Hirofumi Katase, deputy secretary-general for the Cabinet Secretariat, Secretariat Headquarters for Space Policy, Government of Japan.

About Katase
Before serving as the deputy secretary-general, councilor, Cabinet Secretariat for the Secretariat of Headquarters for Space Policy, Japan, Katase was director-general for Trade, Economic Cooperation and International Exhibitions. His other previous positions include: deputy director-general for International Strategy, Trade Policy Bureau; director, Aerospace and Defense Industry Division, Manufacturing Industries Bureau; director, Petroleum and Natural Gas Division, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy; director, Economic Policy Unit, Minister’s Secretariat; and secretary general, Japan Business Council in Europe. Katase earned a law degree from the University of Tokyo and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan.
