Space Foundation, Secure World Foundation Host Security and Sustainability Briefing

The Space Foundation partnered with the Secure World Foundation on Aug. 21 to host a lunch briefing on Capitol Hill to discuss international initiatives aimed at outer space security and sustainability.
The briefing was conducted by a panel featuring:
- Sam Black, director of policy, Satellite Industry Association (SIA)
- Peter Marquez, vice president of strategy and planning, Orbital, and former White House space policy director
- Jessica Powers, director for engagement, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Space Policy), U.S. Department of Defense
- Frank Slazer, vice president for space systems, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA)
The panel was moderated by Victoria Samson, Washington Office director, Secure World Foundation.
Congressional staff from both the House and the Senate attended, as did officials from various executive branch agencies, industry representatives and international space representatives.
