Gina Taranto is 2014 Outstanding Fundraising Executive

On Sept. 19, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Colorado Chapter presented the 2014 Award for Outstanding Fundraising Executive to the Space Foundation’s Director – Development Gina Taranto, CFRE. This award annually recognizes an individual in the Southern Colorado area for outstanding work, time, passion and commitment to making the community better by elevating philanthropy.

Taranto has served at a variety of nonprofit organizations in Colorado, including El Pomar Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, University of Colorado Foundation and Colorado College. Taranto just celebrated her one-year anniversary with the Space Foundation.  

Taranto holds the certification of CFRE, Certified Fundraising Executive. She has served in a number of board positions, including AFP-Southern Colorado Chapter board member, immediate past chair of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, former board member for the Woodland Park Hockey Association, as well as past president for the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable. She was the CPGR Volunteer of the Year in 2007 and named a ‘Rising Star’ by the Colorado Springs Business Journal in 2011.
