Meet Author Dian Curtis Regan at the Discovery Center June 11

The Space Foundation Discovery Center's last Space Story Party of the school year featured guest presenter Dian Curtis Regan (pictured), author of more than 60 books for young children. She read her book Space Boy and His Dog to the young participants and signed copies of her book, which has been designated a Space Certified Imagination product.

Space Certified Imagination Products are those that increase public interest in and excitement about space. The Space Foundation also certifies products in two other categories -- Certified Technology Products or related services that directly resulted from space technology or space program development, and Certified Educational Products that are used in educational environments to stimulate interest in and knowledge about space.

The Discovery Center's Space Story Parties are open to the public and will resume in the fall at the Discovery Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Until then, there will be a number of other activities for young children during the Discovery Center's Summer of Discovery.

On Saturday, June 11, the Discovery Center's Summer of Discovery will launch with a return visit by Dian Curtis Regan, who will read her newest book, Space Boy and the Space Pirate, also a Space Certified Imagination product. Other books authored by Regan include The Snow Blew Inn, Rocky Cave Kids, Monster of the Month Club, Barnyard Slam and the bestselling Princess Nevermore. Her books have received many honors, including Best Books for Young Adults, Los Angeles Times Recommended Book and Children's Choice Awards. Plan now to attend her presentations at the Discovery Center on June 11 at 11:00 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m.
