Space Foundation Announces Audience with an Astronaut, Free Virtual Educational Series

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Feb. 24, 2022 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocate organization founded in 1983 for the global space ecosystem, today announced the virtual educational series Audience with an Astronaut will begin Monday, Feb. 28.

The six-part series, co-sponsored by the United States Air Force Academy Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Outreach Program, is free and open to anyone nationwide. The programming includes Q&A segments, audience engagement via polls and videos, and STEM hands-on activity lessons and features former NASA astronaut Lt. Col. Duane “Digger” Carey, USAF (Ret.). Among Digger’s accomplishments was piloting Space Shuttle Columbia on the STS-109 mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope in 2002.
