Written by: Space Foundation Editorial Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — April 7, 2022 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit advocate organization founded in 1983, today announced its partnership with the International Space University (ISU), a private non-profit institution, formally recognized as an institute of higher education in France by the French Ministry of Education. The partnership was revealed at a Memorandum of Understanding signing at the 37th Space Symposium at The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, CO (USA).
The new partnership will allow both organizations to coordinate space and space awareness education programs focused on expanding the diversity and entrepreneurial engagement of the global space ecosystem.
Commenting at the MOU signing at the 37th Space Symposium, Space Foundation Tom Zelibor CEO shared, “With the establishment of our Center for Innovation and Education and our recently created Space Commerce Institute, working with ISU allows to open more doors and opportunities to bring more people into the most dynamic and innovative economy in the world. Pairing ISU’s history of preparing today and tomorrow’s space leaders and Space Foundation’s information, education and collaboration expertise further build access and opportunity for anyone looking to find their place with space.”
“As an international space elite school, ISU’s goal is to provide an interdisciplinary space education that prepares the future workforce of the space sector for global opportunities and challenges ahead. A tighter cooperation between the Space Foundation and ISU will enable multiple avenues for global space education and fostering international ecosystems for entrepreneurship,” said International Space University President, Prof. Pascale Ehrenfreund.
