Ms. Andrea M. Yaffe is the National Security Council Director for Space Policy. Ms. Yaffe previously served as the Director for Space Strategy and Plans in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) for Policy, where she focused on shaping the strategic direction of national security space issues. Prior to that role, she served as the Director for Transnational Threats in OSD’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) office, where she primarily focused on preventing the proliferation of WMD materials, as well as Iran and North Korea WMD threats. She worked several other roles in the CWMD office after joining from OSD’s Pakistan team. Before joining OSD, Ms. Yaffe was an Associate Vice President at The Cohen Group, a consulting firm. She started her career in the personal office of Senator Carl Levin.
