Come to the Discovery Center for Tinker Space!

The Space Foundation Discovery Center in Colorado Springs is beginning a new offering on the third Saturday of each month.  

Following the Maker® movement, each month the Space Foundation will host a Tinker Space workshop, highlighting new and upcoming technologies in an educational environment.  

Projects include: 3D printing, quadcopters, Raspberry Pi computers, robot building, app-making and others. The workshops will be open to participants and families ages 10 years and older. While there is an additional cost for the workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to take a project home with them for further exploration.  

Nov. 21 – Hexabugs
1.5-2 hours
Build a simple hexabug
Create a course for your hexabug to explore
$10, one “bugbot” per participant

Dec. 5 (Star Day/Tinker Day combo) – Quadcopters
1.5-2 hours
Fly a quadcopter
$10 to participate, $40 for kit available on site

Jan. 23 – App Development
2-4 hours 
Learn how to create an app
$10, and bring your own smart device

Workshops are first come, first served. Contact the Space Foundation at 719.362.8148 to RSVP a spot for a workshop.  

The Space Foundation Discovery Center is located at 4425 Arrowswest Drive in Colorado Springs, just off of Garden of the Gods Road.
