Support the Space Foundation Holiday Food Drive: Get Discounted Discovery Center Admission

Written by: developer

The Space Foundation is supporting efforts to stock the pantries of Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado in anticipation of greater need during colder weather and the holiday season.

Care and Share supplies more than 300 partner agencies (food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, etc.) with food for our Southern Colorado neighbors in need, and also provides food directly to children, the working poor and seniors through a variety of initiatives and programs. Last year, Care and Share distributed more than 19 million pounds of food, or 15.8 million meals, throughout its 31-county service area.

The Space Foundation is a designated collection point for Care and Share food donations, and we ask for your support by donating the following items*

  • Soup
  • Cereal
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meat, vegetables and fruit
  • Snacks
  • Boxed side dishes
  • Dry goods
  • Other non-perishable food items

*Please be sure that donated items are well within any expiration date on the packaging.

Now through Dec. 18, 2015, visitors to our Discovery Center in Colorado Springs who make a donation to the food drive will receive $1 off the admission price (per person, per day). The Discovery Center is located at 4425 Arrowswest Drive, just off of Garden of the Gods Road, and a food drive collection box will be located in the lobby. For information, call the Space Foundation at 719.576.8000.

THANK YOU for your support!
