Meet April Dee at the January Space Mixer: The Science of Extreme Sports

Written by: developer

Young adults are invited to the Discovery Center in Colorado Springs on Friday, Jan. 15, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for a new event — the 21+ Space Mixer. The theme for this first mixer is “The Science of Extreme Sports.”  Honor your New Year’s resolution to get in shape and learn how science can help you meet your goals, while you meet new people.

Mountain biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, Ironman triathlons and obstacle course racing push the limits of human endurance, and science is working hard to keep us safe, healthy and extreme. This exciting event will share the ways that science can help us push the limit of what humans can do.

The guest presenter on Jan. 15 will be April Dee (pictured), obstacle course racer, Spartan Pro Team. See her racing stats here.

The $20 admission fee includes a drink voucher for soda, beer or wine, light bites, admission to the Discovery Center and the Mixer program. A cash bar will also be available. This is a 21 years and older only event.
