Symposium Features Military, Government Speakers The general sessions of the Strategic Space Symposium - coming up Nov. 2 - 4 at the Qwest Center Omaha - offers an impressive roster of top-level military and government speakers covering a wide range of topics important to defense professionals and on-the-ground warfighters.

Confirmed military leaders (click on the names for background information) speaking from the main podium include:

  • Gen. Kevin P. Chilton, USAF, commander, U.S. Strategic Command (pictured), will act as host and provide a United States Strategic Command Perspective
  • Vice Adm. Carl V. Mauney, USN, deputy commander, United States Strategic Command, will serve as moderator for the Deputy Commander Panel (Joint Operations: Space as a Force Multiplier) panel, as well as giving Closing Remarks
  • Vice Adm. Robert B. Murrett, USN, director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, will give a Combat Support Agency Perspective 
  • The Honorable Dave Heineman, Governor of the State of Nebraska, will welcome attendees
  • Lt. Gen. Kevin Campbell, USA, commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense, will discuss Warfighter Perspectives along with Lt. Gen. Larry James, USAF, at the Nov. 4 luncheon sponsored by Raytheon
  • Lt. Gen. Francis H. Kearney, III, USA, deputy commander, United States Special Operations Command, will participate in the Deputy Commander Panel (Joint Operations: Space as a Force Multiplier) panel
  • Lt. Gen. Larry James, USAF, commander Joint Functional Component Command for Space, will discuss Warfighter Perspectives along with Lt. Gen. Kevin Campbell, USA, , at the Nov. 4 luncheon sponsored by Raytheon
  • Maj. Gen. Harold W. "Punch" Moulton, II, director of operations, United States European Command, will participate in the Deputy Commander Panel (Joint Operations: Space as a Force Multiplier) panel
  • Brig. Gen. Michael J. Carey, USAF, deputy director, Global Operations, Global Operations Directorate, United States Strategic Command, will moderate the View from the Front: Deployed Enlisted/Officer Space Operator Perspectives panel
  • Air Cdre. Jan van Hoof, assistant director capabilities of the Joint Air Power Competence Centre at Kalkar in Germany
  • Air Commodore Mark Roberts, Royal Air Force, United Kingdom
