Space Foundation is Moving to New HeadquartersCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jul. 7, 2011) — The Space Foundation is in transition to its new headquarters at 4425 Arrowswest Drive in Colorado Springs, moving from the building it has occupied for the past decade at 310 S. 14th Street.

The Colorado Springs-based team will be in place at the new facility on Monday, July 11.

As communications equipment is relocated, there may be slower than usual response times for telephone calls and email queries; however, every effort will be made to respond quickly and efficiently.

What will change
As of July 11, the new mailing and delivery address is:
Space Foundation
4425 Arrowswest Drive
Colorado Springs, CO 80907

What will remain the same
The Space Foundation main Colorado Springs phone number (+01-719-576-8000), the website address (www.SpaceFoundation.org) and individual email addresses remain the same. Reporters may continue to contact [email protected]

The Space Foundation Discovery Institute (SFDI), which serves as headquarters for the Space Foundation’s education programs, remains on the campus of Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy, also in Colorado Springs and is not affected by the move. Space Across the Curriculum courses taught at SFDI are also not affected.

The move also has no affect on research and analysis and government affairs activities conducted from its Washington, D.C., office and or field activities conducted from Houston, Texas, or Cape Canaveral, Fla.

The decision to remain in Colorado Springs was influenced by generous support from El Pomar Foundation and its internal Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund, the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corporation and the State of Colorado Economic Development Commission, the E.L. and Thelma Gaylord Foundation and the Anschutz Foundation.

El Pomar’s grant is contingent upon the Space Foundation retaining its headquarters in Colorado Springs and holding its annual National Space Symposium in El Paso (Colo.) County for 15 years from the date of the gift. The Space Foundation has held the National Space Symposium at The Broadmoor Hotel for the past 27 years.
