Report from Washington

Written by: developer

On July 31, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) agreed to pass a six month Continuing Resolution (CR) to avoid a government shutdown before the November elections. The CR will extend government funding after it runs out on Oct. 1. The Congress is expected to vote on the CR when it returns from recess in early September.
