Space Foundation Launches Quarterly New Generation Networking in Washington, D.C.

Written by: developer

In September, the Space Foundation partnered with Women in Aerospace (WIA), Women in Defense and the Space Generation Advisory Council to host a joint New Generation networking reception at Airbus Group Government Relations and Experience Center in Washington, D.C. In addition to providing the spectacular venue, host Airbus Group, a Space Foundation Contributing Member, also provided beverages for the event.

The informal setting helped the 75 young professionals who attended, and select mentors, feel comfortable discussing their work experiences and offering career advice.

“This was extremely successful networking, with diverse and interesting participants who continued their discussions outside after the event ended,” said Space Foundation Chief Operating Officer Shelli Brunswick, who is also Chair of WIA. “We exceeded our registration goal by more than 50 percent, and connected with organizations that want to host our future networking events in D.C.”

The Space Foundation awarded prizes during the evening, including two complimentary registrations to the 33rd Space Symposium in Colorado Springs in April.

The Space Foundation plans to host quarterly New Generation networking events in the Washington, D.C., area for space professionals age 35 years and younger, and the next one will be held in November. Anyone interested in sponsoring or hosting New Gen networking should contact Space Foundation New Generation Program Lead Bernadette Maisel at [email protected].
