Faster, Safer, Greener Commercial Aviation - February 2010
Space systems and technology offer a wide variety of benefits to the aviation community, ranging from improved navigation to in-flight entertainment. As the U.S. air traffic management system is modernized, airline passengers should experience fewer delays and safer flights due to satellite positioning, navigation, and timing. New air traffic control procedures will also help to reduce the environmental impact of aviation by enabling aircraft to operate more efficiently.

ITAR and the U.S. Space Industry - September 2008
As part of its mission to address issues of importance to the space industry, the Space Foundation conducted research on the impact of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As of the time of publication in late 2008, ITAR was found to be harmful to the U.S. space industrial base. This was particularly the case for lower-level suppliers, companies that drive a significant amount of the innovation and technological advances on which the industry relies for growth. The full report is available for download as a pdf.
The National Security Space Industrial Base - April 2006
This paper examines concerns about the viability and performance of the space industrial base, particularly at the sub-prime contractor level. It is essential to ensure the health of the industrial base so that the space industry can continue to innovate and produce new technology and capabilities. The report is available for download as a pdf.
