Space Camp for Teachers – Video Shows Value of Teacher Education

Written by: developer

Space Camp for Teachers - Video Shows Value of Teacher Education “Space Camp for Teachers” is a feature video highlighting the Space Foundation’s Space Discovery Institute courses in Charles County. In 2007, the Space Foundation began a partnership with the Charles County Public School system to make Space Discovery Institute classes available to their teachers. In 2008, the Space Foundation doubled the number of classes offered in Charles County, making it possible for even more teachers to participate. “Space Camp for Teachers” captures the enthusiasm of the participating teachers for learning and incorporating space experiments and lessons into their regular classroom curriculum.

The Space Discovery Institute is comprised of week-long, intensive, graduate-level, in-residence courses in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Charles County, Md. These courses provide educators with skills and techniques to capture the imagination and interest of their students using space to inspire, enable, and propel them to study the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines.
