Second exhibit expansion, two specialized seminars added for Space Foundation's 19th National Space Symposium

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.(Jan. 21, 2003) — After a record-breaking early sellout of the already-expanded Boeing Exhibit Center, organizers of the 19th National Space Symposium announced today yet another expansion of symposium exhibit facilities to accommodate additional exhibitors. The expansion accommodates numerous space organizations that had been on a waiting list to participate in the industry’s premier annual event, to be held April 7-10, 2003 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. More than 4,000 space professionals, representing more than 500 space companies and organizations, are expected to participate, including more than 100 exhibitors. The symposium is organized by the not-for-profit Space Foundation as part of its mission “to vigorously advance and support civil, commercial and national security space endeavors and educational excellence.” The Foundation also today announced the expansion of the symposium program itself, with the addition of two new special interest seminars on Monday, April 7, prior to the official opening:

• “Making Space Law Today Meet the Needs of Tomorrow,” a special law seminar scheduled from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., will be presented by Holland and Hart; and
• A special Communicator’s Workshop is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. and presented by the Space Foundation.

The law seminar is open to National Space Symposium registrants for an additional $125, and to the general public for $199. Topics include

• U.S. Export Controls and Aerospace: Trends in Enforcement, Reform and Regulation
• Essential Tools for Protecting Space Intellectual Property
• “What’s Shaping Up for 2003?” — a discussion with The Honorable Robert S. Walker, Chairman, Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates.
