Space Foundation statement on resignation of NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 13, 2004) — Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Elliot G. Pulham today praised Administrator Sean O’Keefe for the legacy he leaves at NASA. “Given his brilliant performance as NASA administrator, successfully reinventing the agency under the most difficult of circumstances, it should be no surprise that Mr. O’Keefe would be highly sought after to lead other institutions. Given the high cost and low recompense of federal public service, it is completely understandable that Mr. O’Keefe give due consideration to such opportunities. The nation will be forever indebted to him for his incredible leadership as NASA administrator.
