Space Foundation New Hires, Promotions, and Longevity Recognitions

The Space Foundation has named Mr. William Van Rensalier Parker as special adviser for international affairs. Parker will advise Foundation leadership on international matters and work on developing new relationships and opportunities with global companies and organizations. His broad experience in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Washington, D.C., brings a unique new capability to the Space Foundation as its mission-related activities become broader in scope and more international in flavor.
The Space Foundation recently announced the hiring of two new vice presidents. Mr. James Vaughan has been named vice president of marketing and creative services and Mr. Kevin Wilma will fill the newly created position of vice president of development. Both will report to president and chief executive officer, Elliot Pulham, and will be based at the Space Foundation’s Colorado Springs headquarters.
Vaughan will lead the Space Foundation’s marketing team as they pioneer new marketing, advertising, and interactive media initiatives that successfully advance the mission of the Foundation. This responsibility includes managing the graphic identity of the Foundation and production of all Space Foundation collaterals that contribute to the success of Foundation partner services, industry services, education, and space awareness activities.
As the vice president of development, Wilma will lead the Space Foundation’s philanthropic development office. He will be responsible for creating an overall fundraising strategy and annual fundraising goals and plans, while taking leadership for all major fundraising efforts.
Ms. Ashley Whelan was recently promoted to manager, government affairs. Whelan has been with the Space Foundation since 2005, supporting the research & analysis and government affairs activities in the Washington, D.C., office.
The Space Foundation would also like to recognize Mr. Kevin Cook, director, space awareness programs; Mr. Elliot Pulham, president and chief executive officer; Ms. Andrea Glasset, director, human resources; Ms. Julie Howell, senior marketing communications writer; and Ms. Faye Nicholson, receptionist, for longevity with the organization. Cook has been with the Foundation five years. Pulham, Glasset, and Howell have been with the organization for 10 years. Nicholson has been with the Foundation for 15 years.
