Space Foundation Participates in 56th Session of UNCOPUOS

The Space Foundation participated in the 56th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS), held from June 12-21 at the UN City in Vienna. Senior Vice President – Strategic and International Affairs Steve Eisenhart was a private sector advisor on the United States Delegation.

While at the meeting, Eisenhart met with officials of government space agencies, foreign affairs offices and international non-governmental organizations. He participated in an Expert Working Group on the Long Term Sustainability of Outer Space Affairs and in the Advisory Board meeting of the Space Generation Advisory Council.

The Space Foundation co-hosted the United States reception for delegates with NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.

Fifty years of Women in Space was celebrated, featuring a number of special activities including presentations by the first woman cosmonaut, Valentina Teroshkova.
