Space Foundation Offers New Scholarship for Educators at The Classical Academy Central Campus

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 7, 2012) — The Space Foundation is accepting applications for a new annual scholarship specifically for educators at The Classical Academy (TCA) Central Campus in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Anna and Kathryn Probert Educator Enrichment Scholarship provides the selected educator with tuition, materials fees plus a $500 stipend to participate in one of the Space Foundation’s week-long Space Across the Curriculum summer courses. The courses cover topics ranging from rocketry, robotics and astronomy to living and working in space, and are designed to help teachers use space themes in their classrooms to improve student performance in literacy, science, technology, engineering, mathematics and other subject areas.

How to Apply
The applicant must be an educator based at The Classical Academy Central Campus and may be a teacher, a member of the administration, a librarian, tech teacher or resource teacher. The applicant must send a letter stating his or her motivation for applying, experience or interest in space themes in the classroom and what he/she hopes to gain from the course. More details can be obtained at the above Web site. The letter must be submitted to TCA Central Campus Principal Don Stump no later than April 30, 2012, for the coming summer session. The applications will, then, be reviewed by the Space Foundation scholarship committee. The winner will be notified in May 2012.
