Eisenhart Joins Space Generation Advisory Council Board of Advisors

Space Foundation Senior Vice President – Strategic & International Affairs Steve Eisenhart has been selected to join the Board of Advisors of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) for a two year term, effective immediately.
About SGAC
Based in Vienna, Austria, SGAC is a non-governmental organization representing students and young space professionals in the space sector to the United Nations, space agencies, industry and academia. SGAC has permanent observer status in the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), and was conceived at the Third United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Space (UNISPACE-III) in Vienna in 1999. SGAC currently has a network of 4,000 university students and young professionals in the space sector in over 90 countries. Learn more about SGAC here.
As part of its New Generation Initiatives, the Space Foundation works closely with SGAC to mentor and network with a new generation of future space leaders. SGAC hosts a Fusion Forum each spring in conjunction with the Space Foundation’s Space Symposium in Colorado Springs. Fusion Forum brings together delegates from around the world to discuss current space issues and to participate in the Space Symposium. In 2013, fifty students and young professionals representing 17 countries were selected to participate in Fusion Forum.
About Eisenhart
As head of international affairs, Eisenhart is principally responsible for the Space Foundation’s global strategy and relationships with international space agencies and organizations, foreign embassies and U.S. organizations involved with global space programs. He is directly responsible for the program development and integration of key Space Foundation activities including the annual Space Symposium. He also supervises the Space Foundation’s government affairs activities in the Washington, D.C., ofice including relationships with government agencies, other space advocacy organizations and associations and corporate interests.
Since joining the Space Foundation in 1996, Eisenhart has had a broad range of responsibilities, serving as senior vice president of strategic communications, director of communications and public affairs and communications manager. Eisenhart was a military public affairs official and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
