Submit Abstracts Now for Space Symposium Tech Track

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 8, 2018) – The Space Foundation is now accepting abstracts for papers to be presented at the Tech Track of the 35th Space Symposium.

Much like the main Symposium program, Tech Track will include featured speakers and a series of 20-minute “tech talk” presentations selected from a wide variety of submissions. The Tech Track sessions offer registrants an opportunity to hear from government and industry leaders in space technology development.

Space Foundation Joins Italian Partners for New Space Economy Expoforum 2019

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 3, 2018) – While attending the 69th edition of the International Astronautical Congress in Bremen, Germany, Space Foundation CEO Tom Zelibor signed an agreement with Italy’s Fiera Roma and Fondazione Amaldi to organize the first European forum dedicated to the global development of projects and technologies derived from the space industry.

Firefly Aerospace Saves Space Foundation International Student Art Contest

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 12, 2018) – Since 2011, the Space Foundation’s International Student Art Contest has inspired thousands of children around the globe to envision the possibilities and adventures to be found in space. However, for 2019, the art contest almost ended. In spite of participation by 4,578 children in 57 countries this year, a lack of sponsorship nearly killed plans for the contest to continue in 2019. But at the eleventh hour, Austin-based Firefly Aerospace stepped in to sponsor the art contest for 2019.

Col. Thomas Dorame to Head Space Foundation Washington, D.C., Strategic Operations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 6, 2018) – The Space Foundation has selected Col. Thomas Dorame, USA (Ret.), as Vice President, Strategic Operations, at its Washington, D.C. office, effective Sept. 4, 2018.

Dorame joins the Space Foundation after serving more than 30 years in the U.S. Army.

ROCKETOBERFEST Brings Family-Friendly Oktoberfest Celebration to the Discovery Center

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 5, 2018) — The Space Foundation is launching its inaugural ROCKETOBFEST on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Discovery Center in Colorado Springs.

The all-ages event will feature interactive activities and games, beer, food trucks, live music and of course, space exhibits. The event is also a fundraiser benefiting the Space Foundation’s education programs, Sudden Arithmetic Death Syndromes (SADS) and the Pikes Peak Club.

Petit Family Foundation to Host ‘Soar to the Stars’ Gala for Girls' STEM Education

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 23, 2018) – This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Petit Family Foundation, and a decade of supporting the education of young people, especially girls and women in the sciences.
