Space Foundation Discovery Institute
The Space Foundation Discovery Institute in Colorado Springs, Colo., is the headquarters for the Space Foundation's education team, an education destination for students and a professional development center that provides space-themed training and support for teachers from around the world. It serves as the base for our education programs, and houses classrooms, the AGI Space Missions Simulator, a Mars Yard and a NASA Educator Resource Center.
Each summer, we use the classrooms and labs at the Space Foundation Discovery Institute for a full complement of Space Across the Curriculum professional development courses for teachers. These week-long, intensive, graduate-level courses provide PreK-12 educators with space-related science, technology, mathematics and engineering (STEM) education knowledge and content that is instantly transferable to the classroom. Participants can earn continuing education credits, graduate credits or work toward a master's degree in multiple related disciplines.
Throughout the year, the Space Foundation Discovery Institute serves as a location for students and educator classes, community tours and meetings with educators from around the world.
The Space Foundation reserves the right to alter the program, dates or speakers at any time.
