Space Foundation Teacher Liaison Recognized
Space Foundation Teacher Liaison Marci Ward, a third-grade teacher at Immaculate Conception Grade School, Catholic Schools of Fairbanks (Alaska), has been named by Cambridge to Who's Who for Excellence in Elementary Education.
"Marci is as passionate as they come. Her dedication to educate herself in order to better her students growth is extraordinary," said Bobby Gagnon, who coordinates the Space Foundation Teacher Liaison program. "The Space Foundation is very proud to have her as a Teacher Liaison and we look forward to continuing our work with her."
Marci has been a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison since 2008 and said she considers attending the National Space Symposium to be the highlight of her career to date. The 27th National Space Symposium, to be held April 11-14, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colo., features an educational component and the Space Foundation hosts a national group of Teacher Liaisons and selected Colorado teachers and students for workshops, tours and "Audience with an Astronaut" sessions.
