COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 12, 2002) — The Space Foundation announced today that the entire 27,380 square foot Boeing Exhibit Center has been sold for next year’s 19th National Space Symposium. The total square footage increased 5.6% from last year while the sell-out day is 60 days earlier, setting a new record. More than 100 companies will be exhibiting in 2003, up from 84 in 2002. The National Space Symposium, hosted by the Space Foundation and considered to be the premier space industry conference, is scheduled April 7-10, 2003, at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. More than 4,000-space professionals from around the world are expected to participate. “We have begun the process of accepting “provisional” commitments for additional exhibits,” said Elliot G. Pulham, Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer. “If a sufficient volume of additional exhibitors can be signed up to justify the expense of an additional expansion to the Boeing Exhibit Center, we’ll do it.” “This in a tremendous accomplishment by the Space Foundation team, ensuring a larger and more successful event for all our customers,” added Pulham. Symposium highlights include a spectacular opening ceremony with the presentation of three Space Foundation awards, keynote speeches, panel sessions, Corporate Partnership Dinner, and the Gen. James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award Luncheon. The four-day event concludes with the Space Technology Hall of Fame Awards Dinner.
