XM Radio executive, University of Denver president elected to Space Foundation Board of Directors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 20, 2004) — The board of directors of the Space Foundation has unanimously elected Marc Holtzman, president of the University of Denver, and Lon Levin, vice president, Mobile Satellite Ventures and co-founder and senior vice president, XM Satellite Radio, to the board of directors. Holtzman and Levin were each elected to serve a three-year term. “Marc and Lon both bring strategic vision, broad management experience and fresh perspectives to our board,” said chairman John Higginbotham. “We look forward to their contributions as we work together to continue to move the Space Foundation forward.” At the University of Denver, Holtzman collaborates on strategic international and fundraising initiatives and works with senior administrators on major projects. He also serves as co-chairman of the Governor’s Commission of Science and Technology and as chairman of New Schools Development Corporation. Previously, he was a member of the Cabinet of Governor Bill Owens as Colorado’s first Secretary of Technology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Lehigh University. Levin has more than 23 years of experience in the satellite, media, and telecommunications industries. He helped with the formation and development of both XM Radio, which provides radio service via satellite, and Mobile Satellite Ventures, which provides mobile services via satellite. He previously served as a partner in the communications law firm of Gurman, Kurtis, Blask and Freedman. About the Space Foundation
