The Space Foundation in Colorado Springs offers inspiring and entertaining venue rental spaces that can accommodate events of all sizes—from small meetings to gatherings and parties of up to 400 guests. Our meeting rooms and party spaces feature unique, space-themed environments and are suitable to host corporate meetings and events, seminars, wedding receptions, military promotion celebrations, retirement parties, birthday parties, dances, bar mitzvahs, and more.

"So, my husband and I were the first ever couple to have our wedding reception here, and I gotta say, it was awesome. We're both kinda nerds anyway, so this venue seemed perfect for us. Their price was super reasonable, the staff were all really nice and excited with us, and the event planner we worked with was a HUGE help. We held it in the Area 51 room, which has an almost full kitchen, with plenty of space. They rearranged the whole room for us, and it really did look pretty. I was so happy that day, and not a single thing went wrong."

Space-Themed Event Spaces: Space Foundation Discovery Center

The Space Foundation Discovery Center is the Pike’s Peak Region's first and only dedicated space, science and technology center and museum. It is an interactive, education-focused destination that advances science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) in the exciting context of space exploration, development and utilization.

The Space Foundation Discovery Center features venue rental options to accommodate meetings, receptions, and parties of various sizes:

Meeting Rooms: The Ackerman Conference Center

Jasper D. Ackerman was a business leader in Colorado Springs from the 1940's until his passing in 1988. In 1963, Ackerman founded the Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund in his mother's memory. The Ackerman Conference Center is named in his honor, in appreciation for funding provided to the Space Foundation by the Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund. The Ackerman Conference Center offers several options for rental spaces to accommodate meetings of various sizes:

Venue Rental and Meeting Room Fees

Deposit

When booking the rental of Area 51 or the El Pomar Space Gallery, users agree to remit to the Space Foundation a deposit equivalent to 50% of the base rate estimated for the event, plus 100% of the setup/cleanup and security fees estimated for the user's event. When booking the rental of Hill, Estes, Moorman or the Education Activity Center, the user agrees to remit to the Space Foundation a deposit equivalent to 100% of the setup/cleanup fees estimated for the user's event.

Cancellation Fees

Basic meetings and events with no special arrangements may be canceled seven or more days in advance of the booked event with no cancellation fees. Events, meetings, receptions, etc. that require special arrangements may be canceled 14 or more days in advance of the booked event with no cancelation fees. Otherwise, the full deposit is retained by the Space Foundation.

Catering and Food Services

All catering and food service for venue rental must be provided by the customer and coordinated with the Events Coordinator. We will do our best to accommodate your dining plans and can send a list of preferred vendors upon request.
