Team Found Funding for New Space Foundation Building in Colorado Springs

EDC Awards Headquarters Project At a ceremony in May, the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC) awarded the 2010 Community Enhancement Award for the retention of the Space Foundation headquarters to the project team, made up of:

  • Anna Keesling Ackerman Fund
  • EDC
  • El Pomar Foundation
  • Scott Bryan of Bryan Construction, Inc.
  • Space Foundation
  • State of Colorado

In January, the Space Foundation announced plans to keep its headquarters in Colorado Springs, but to move into 45,715 square feet of space at 4425 Arrowswest Drive in the Gardens of the Gods high-tech corridor under a condominium agreement with the Foundation for Colorado Springs Future (FCSF), a 501(c)(3) organization established by the EDC.

The facility is part of a 171,500-square-foot office and warehouse structure purchased by the FCSF. The Space Foundation plans to move its headquarters staff into the facility this summer. The Space Foundation employs about 50 people and has been based in Colorado Springs since its beginning in 1983.
