JPL Tour Includes Mars Science Laboratory

While in Pasadena for the Space Foundation annual meeting, a group of Space Foundation team leaders and board members toured NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

The visit included a welcome and overview by JPL Director Dr. Charles Elachi and visits to the deep space communications operations center, the Earth lab and the home of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL).

Elachi is a past recipient of the General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award and MSL is being presented the John L. "Jack" Swigert, Jr., Award for Space Exploration in 2013.
