Written by: developer

For the third time, the Space Foundation has been designated by The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group as among the 50 Best Nonprofit Organizations to Work For in the United States, ranking 7th among Small Nonprofit organizations, and ranked 12th best overall.

The Space Foundation also participated in the screening processes, and made the list of Best Nonprofits to Work For, in 2012 and 2014.

"I am very proud of our Space Foundation team," said Space Foundation Chief Executive Officer Elliot Pulham. "They are the heart of all that we do, and their professionalism and dedication make our organization exceptional. We strive for work-life balance, in spite of our rapid growth, and we give our team members opportunity to grow with the organization."

The sixth annual report was compiled with the help of Best Companies Group, Inc., (BCG) through gathering detailed data about each participating nonprofit. Each organization completed a questionnaire and then employees completed a confidential survey. Sources outside the organization were also contacted.

Results were analyzed and categorized according to eight core focus areas:

  • Leadership and planning;
  • Corporate culture and communications
  • Role satisfaction;
  • Work environment;
  • Relationship with supervisor;
  • Training, development and resources;
  • Pay and benefits; and,
  • Overall engagement.

Nonprofits on the list scored on average 90 percent on the survey, compared with 76 percent by nonprofits that didn't make the list.

The Space Foundation employs 46 people in Colorado Springs, Colo., New York, Texas and Washington, D.C.
